Ministry
of Love is Los Angeles duo Io Echo’s debut album, released in April 2013. The
band was personally selected by Trent Reznor to open for Nine Inch Nails’
last-ever gig and recently composed the score for the Harmony Korine and James
Franco film “Rebel”. The most interesting thing about the duo, however, might
be the media-created genre label “new orientalism” as a description of their
sound. Influences that can be heard: 80′s indie guitar stylings, New Age and
Eastern Asian instrumentation, industrial rhythms, shoegaze textures, and
gothic undertones...
