About Lilies on Mars
Lilies on
Mars is the retro-futuristic dreampop project of Marina Cristofalo and Lisa
Masia. Hailing from Sardinia and presently based in London, the duo identify
themselves as “British/Italo-Alien,” an apt designation for anyone familiar
with the truly extraterrestrial ethereality of their sound. Lilies’ third
full-length, Dot to Dot, was released in Italy this year and will be given worldwide
release by Saint
Marie Records in 2014. Dot to Dot includes “Oceanic Landscape”, a sublime
collaboration with Italian pop’s elder statesman Franco Battiato, which we
posted here.
Saint Marie has recently released “Dream of Bees” as the first single from the
album along with two striking remixes including one by Silver
Swans that we posted here.
