Sounds of
Sputnik, a solo endeavor by Roma Kalitkin, takes on expanded personnel for New
Born. Shauna Mclarnon of the Ukraine-based duo Ummagma contributes vocals and
lyrics, while Alexander Kretov, her husband and partner in Ummagma, has mixed
the record and performs vocals on four tracks. Oleg Mezherovsky plays drums and
original Swervedriver drummer Graham Bonnar appears as well.
“Overdrive”
and “New Born”, the two excellent tracks from the album so far posted on
Bandcamp, are both collaborations with Ummagma and will definitely leave
listeners looking forward to the release.
