New Music: Pure X release another single, Heaven, from upcoming LP Angel.

Less than a year after the release of sophomore album Crawling Up The Stairs, Austin’s Pure X are back with new material. “Heaven”, which can be streamed below, is the second single taken from the band’s forthcoming LP, Angel. (You can check out the equally luminescent first single, "Starlight", HERE.)

These new tracks show the band returning to the psych-pop stoner haze reminiscent of debut LP Pleasure, and stylistically they provide slightly easier listening than songs from the brilliant & visceral mindfuck of Crawling Up The Stairs. The new singles indicate that Angel will be much more than a rehash of sounds past, however; they show Pure X continuing to expand and evolve their unique, kaleidoscopic sound to increasingly mind-altering heights. Angel will be released April 1st (North America) and May 5th (UK/Europe) via the band’s new label, Fat Possum.

On March 4th WTSH faves The Mary Onettes released a mini album entitled Portico via Labrador Records. Inspired heavily by science fiction and an obsession with old photography books, Portico is The Mary Onettes’ first release since 2013’s LP Hit The Waves. The band will wrap up their first American tour in 6 years on this very night, March 21, in San Francisco, CA @ Neck of the Woods.

“Split Blood” is the upcoming single from The History of Colour TV. The single is to be released on March 25, and will be available in two formats via Saint Marie Records: a limited print 7" version with full colour artwork, as well as a digital version, both including two remixes. According to the band, The History of Colour TV recently completed their second full length album and “Split Blood” represents the first of several previews leading up to the LP's release this June.
